TumbleBooksOne of the successful e-book companies is TumbleBooks. TumbleBooks are, I feel, e-books that actually work with younger children (preschoolers through third graders), with animation and sound, as well as text. If you’re not familiar with them, go to the Phoenix Public Library’s TumbleBooks site, click on “Story Books,” then click on “L- M,” & go to Little Red in Cyberspace, an animated book intended to teach children proper online behavior. It’s not exactly subtle, but it’s done light-heartedly enough to work for kids. Take a look at some of the other TumbleBooks, too. I feel that books like these are the only kinds of e-books that will attract kids online. Do you disagree? Send me a comment.
